Rope Rescue Technician Annual Competency Refresher

FULFILL YOUR NFPA 1006 ANNUAL CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT

COURSE STRUCTURE
This intensive one-day program combines thorough skills verification with scenario-based assessment:
  • Morning Session (0800-1200): Focused skills stations for individual competency validation in knots, anchors, mechanical advantage systems, ascending/descending techniques, and equipment operation
  • Afternoon Session (1300-1700): Comprehensive scenario-based evaluations where teams respond to realistic technical rescue scenarios, demonstrating coordinated rescue capabilities

PREREQUISITES:

  • NFPA 1006 Rope Rescue Technician certification or equivalent
  • Proof of current physical fitness for technical rescue operations

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Personal harness and helmet (if you have them; equipment will be provided if needed)
  • Gloves suitable for rope operations
  • Eye protection
  • Steel-toe boots or closed-toe shoes
  • Comfortable clothing suitable for technical rescue activities
  • Copy of your Rope Rescue Technician certification

Note: All specialized technical rescue equipment will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring personal gear they are familiar with (subject to instructor inspection).
