Training Programs

We at First Choice Safety Solutions take great pride in the in-depth, relevant, customized training programs we can provide to you and your employees. Why send your employees off-site to a remote location to be trained? We will mobilize to you, cutting overtime and travel expenses without the confusion and cost associated with traveling off your job site. First Choice Safety Solutions will maximize the employees’ time during training, giving you more for your money. This translates into more training time with less overhead. If you don’t have a place to train your workers, that’s ok. We will handle that with a cost effective option close to your site.

Many standards placed into law by OSHA explicitly require the employer to train employees in the safety and health aspects of their jobs. Other OSHA standards (law) make it the employer’s responsibility to limit certain job assignments to only employees who are certified, competent, or qualified. This means that they have had specialized previous training, in or out of the workplace. The term “designated employee” means one who is selected or assigned by the employer as being qualified to perform specific duties.

These requirements reflect OSHA’s belief that training is an essential part of every employer’s safety and health program for protecting workers from injuries and illnesses. Statistics have proven, time and time again, that those who are new and not properly trained have a higher chance of accidents and injuries than experienced and trained workers. If ignorance of specific job hazards and proper work practices is even partly to blame for this higher injury rate, then training will help provide a solution.

Training an employee in a job is time and money well spent, and the employer should regard it as an investment rather than an expense. An effective health and safety training program for workers can result in fewer injuries and illnesses, better morale, and lower insurance premiums, among other benefits.
